The "Forever" Stamp

In a article that I read on msnbc.com, the "forever" stamp was announced on Monday, March 26th. The forever stamp will cost 41 cents and will have the liberty bell. Another large different that the stamp will have is that it will not say the price of the stamp. Instead of the price it will have the word forever on it. The interesting thing about the forever stamp is that even if prices increase after the 41 cent raise, customers will not have to buy one or two cent stamps, instead, the forever stamp will cover any adjustments to price. According to the Board of Governors Chairman, James Miller, "The forever stamp is designed as a convince to consumers...they do not have to buy additional stamps on the next price increase." One of the reasons that the post office may have done this is because recently the post office has lost a lot of business over the years due to the internet and to their competitors.

"Power Company plugs into Giants"

In an article that i read in the Mercury News on Tuesday March 20, 2007, it states that the Giant stadium is not going to have solar panels. The article says that "the Giants will be the first major league baseball ranchise to install solar panels on their stadium." There will be about 590 solar panels that are going to be installed and it will generate enough electricy They will be installed starting in April and should be finished within about two months. The situation is unusual however, PG &E will purchase and pay to install an maintain the panels. In a way, the Giants Statium will be like a solar billboard. Oddly enough, PG&E is not the normal provider. Though the Giants are the first major league team, they are not the first team to do this. By using solar power, the Giants are hoping that it will help educate people about alternate power options.
