IT has a great impact upon my major as well as my career. As I explained earlier, I am an Accounting information systems major and therefore, my major and future career with be directly related to IT. The purpose of an AIS is to accumulate data and provide decision makers (investors, creditors, and managers) with information to make decision (wikipedia). Therefore, AIS majors are taught to work their way through a variety of programs and understand what the programs are saying. We are taught how to mitigate risks through the use of controls and how to ensure that there is a segregation of duties.
